This effect is very minimal, though the performance may improve a bit but this does not show vast improvements. But be sure that the database files are not fragmented. You can improve the performance...

You don´t mention the kind of and size of storage you´re using. The kind of processing you´re running on top of your SQL Server...this might vary whether you´re using a heavy transactional application...
